A Finishing Touch.

So my 6 pieces are almost ready to be posted over to the lovely Leith Gallery for the up and coming exhibition New Faces 2012. (Just applying that final touch,polish ...and solder join.)

I believe this exhibition has been running annually for a few years now, it aims on picking out some of the fresh Art and Design graduates from across Scotland's four Art Schools. DJCAD (Dundee), Grays School of Art (Aberdeen), ECA (Edinburgh) and GSA (Glasgow).  Not only is it a collection of Jewellers but all forms of artistry aswell. I am looking forward to see what other exciting works have been picked.  I know that the other Jewellers in my class selected are  Filipa,  and  Jess ...but they are but a few of the designers to be picked throughout all the Art Schools.

A little insight into where many a midnight hour is spent working away only to eventualy stroll those few steps into the house looking as though I may have been one of Chimney Sweeps right from Mary Poppins; if only I could walk on the smoke from chimney and my life would be perfect.

Folksy; Top 10 Craft Makers for 2012.

Today I was casually browsing through Facebook (like we all do) and spotted a folksy link, channel 4 had asked folksy to come up with their list of 'the top 10 Craft Makers to look out for, for 2012'. To my lovely surprise I spotted myself. Thanks again folksy. I am headed to the workshop soon, just waiting on a wee delivery of silver.
